On a Foggy Winter’s Morning

There is a field to the side of the road near my work destination that I knew would look way-cool this morning. I actually went a slightly different route, just for that reason, as I wanted to take some pictures. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, pulling off on the side of the road screamed of an accident waiting to happen and the only other way to get a vantage point was restricted, as I didn’t have a hard hat with me. (Yes, I actually have safety glasses in my car.  I have a hard-hat, too, but alas, it was at home.)

I did find a little spot with a few trees that had to suffice.

Textured Abstract on Ice

Stepping out this morning, glints of shimmering light drew my attention to the bird bath. Turning my gaze I was blessed with a most amazing sight of textured abstract in angles, lines and various other shapes in natures own surface ice sculpture.

I captured what I could with my little Canon Coolpix.  Within the half-hour, it was gone…

First Snow

It wasn’t a lot of snow.

But it was enough.

Enough to be magic’s passage.

A warmth to light upon the heart.

A smile to rise upon a face.

And a sparkle to gleam from eyes in fresh child-like innocence and joy.

What you do when you get up before 5AM on a Saturday so you can be down to the school by 6 to get your son on the bus for a wrestling tournament, of which, upon arrival to your son’s school, you are informed by the coach that the tournament just got cancelled…., due to the snow.

Snowball fights followed in the back yard. Rogue son was surprised and quite impressed when his Mama turned quickly to Warrior upon a pelting cheap shot to the face, his coat becoming much whiter than blue plaid in the end.
